Looking to invest in an ebook reader but am not sure how I feel about sticking with Amazon

I currently have a 4th generation Kindle (like, pre-Fire era) that I like enough but it is painfully limited, especially without a touchscreen. I currently use my phone's Kindle app to read out of convenience but I'd really love something that's 1) got a bigger screen and 2) isn't connected to like, Twitter.I'd like to upgrade to a good and proper e-reader but I'm not fully sure where to start.Right now, I'm kind of tied to the Kindle library. I have a few ebooks I've purchased through the Kindle store, but only because I don't know where else to buy ebooks. But I do a good 99% of my reading through Libby but, again, Libby is tied to Kindle, and is the only other place to read the ebooks you check out if you don't read them within the Libby app itself.I really wish I could break free of the Amazon monopoly but I feel a bit stuck. Has anyone else struggled with this and figured out some decent workarounds? Or am I better off just sucking it up and getting a decent Kindle? via /r/ebooks https://ift.tt/2sWreQc
