I received a Kindle Oasis 2 as a gift. I'm very grateful, but I abhor Amazon and am not at all invested in that ecosystem. I had my eyes on the Inkpad 3 or Likebook Mars, but now I have a Kindle.... Can I still make it work? I basically want something very simple - just a place to read books without excess stuff (there's enough of that on my phone and PC). I want to sideload DRM-free books and also borrow ebooks from my public library. But from what I understand I can remove the DRM from Kindle books if I get them, and I can upload my own epub files to read, right? Is there any downside to a Kindle that will stop me from just having a simple ereading device for multiple file types? via /r/ebooks https://ift.tt/345qo0D
