Look how they massacred our boy!iPadOS 26.0.1 breaks Marvin pretty badly for me, so if you still have Marvin and depend on it, do not upgrade to iPadOS 26. Long-term, you're going to eventually have to move on to something else, and MapleReader seems to be similar enough to Marvin and is currently being supported and works fine with iPadOS 26.If you've upgraded to iPadOS 26 and are trying to make Marvin work, here's what I've found to work around the issues I've found so far. I use Dark Mode in Marvin so issues for Light Mode readers might be different.Issue #1: when starting to read an ePub book that begins with images of the cover, turning the page locks the book to only seeing those images with no access to menus. Workaround: exit Marvin, re-open Marvin and open the book again, touch the center of the screen a single time, then use the Contents to go to a chapter with text. There might be a way to alter the format of the book with Calibre to fix this but I haven't experimented with that.Issue #2: when opening a book that's been partly read while in Dark mode, you get a black screen. Workaround: touch the center of the screen once, select the aA option button in the upper right corner, select the color presets tab (the fourth tab), switch from Night to Day back to Night. Now you have tiny white text - go to the first tab (Aa), adjust the text size up and then down, and the text size will snap back to your setting. I have to do this every time I start Marvin up, and it's pretty awkward.I don't have much hope that Apple will accidentally fix these issues when Marvin is not even on the Apple Store anymore, and I wouldn't be suprised if further iPadOS updates breaks Marvin entirely sooner or later.I have not tested any of this with iOS 26 but it's probably similar. via /r/ebooks https://ift.tt/joHe73L
