I bought a couple of Kobo e-readers a couple of months and decided to start off with Sartre and Camus as well as some "easier" reads. One of the recommended books was The Fall by Camus, which I felt was quite a suitable follow-on from Sartre's Nausea. My goodness! I got a hint of what it was like from the blurb, but never expected a monologue of such depth and need for tenacity to complete. Indeed, it really was reminiscent of being buttonholed by some stranger in a pub/bar and foolishly agreeing to listen to his story. Unfortunately, I usually ended up with this as my book at bedtime and it sent me off to sleep far too often. I now need to recover and take stock of what I just read. I can't sympathise with the character, but at the same time I can see some of his traits in me. via /r/ebooks https://ift.tt/CitNlJn
