Edge of Madness - Chapter 1 - Fantasy

Synopsis500 years ago, the Goddess of Order, Meena, chose a mortal whom she fancied and made him her champion, bestowing upon him great power that ensured he never lost a war and he always prevailed in the face of adversity. The 'Jojoh Meena', the blessing of the Goddess of Order, was passed down from the mortal whom she favored and down through the line of his male descendants who became Kings of the Kingdom of Binoria. The descendants, with the power of the Goddess, waged war against their rival Kingdoms. Nearly wiping out the kingdom of Kolotia who defied their rule. Subjugating the Remu and the Talisi Kingdoms and forcing them to pay an annual penance to the mighty Binoria to ensure their fate doesn't mirror that of Kolotia. Vayin Vigon, present king of Binoria and holder of the blessing of the Goddess as his ancestors before him, sits on the red throne of the most powerful kingdom in the realm, Binoria. King Vayin Vigon is unstoppable in and out of the field of battle and his reign of tyranny seems to have no end. But unbeknownst to King Vayin is a Kolotian shepherd named Ishar, a young man who catches the eye of the God of Chaos, a malevolent God named Ovek who seeks to right the wrong done to the realm 500 years ago by the Goddess Meena. As the Goddess of Order gave to the Kings of Binoria so must the God of Chaos take from Ishar so as to restore balance within the realm. And the price deemed fit to be paid by Ishar so as to be the champion of Chaos, is the young Kolotian's sanity. Will madness be enough to overcome tyranny?Chapter 1Two prisoners hang precariously on a dungeon cell wall with their wrists cuffed with chains and pinned above them, holding their entire body weight as their feet dangled in the open air. They hovered above the ground side by side and naked. One of the prisoners chuckled which caused the second prisoner to turn her head lazily to observe her companion. "What do you find funny, Ingah?" She asked.  The man called Ingah who was nicknamed 'The black ghost' by the Remu for his accomplishments as a Remu spy replied to his companion's question with another chuckle. He couldn't help it, there he was facing certain death and a thought had bubbled  to the surface of his conscience that caused him to laugh. He turned his head to face his fellow prisoner, she was beautiful despite her right eye that was swollen shut and the blood stains that lined her back and ribcage from being whipped. He observed the steady rising and dropping of her breasts as she breathed and a part of him stirred with longing despite his current predicament.  It was so ironic to feel lust while the threat of death loomed in the background, Ingah laughed again and his companion tilted her head at him with worry. Has the great Black Ghost gone insane?  She wondered. She observed his lean figure and strained muscles as he hang from the chains holding him up. He had copper skin like all Remu do with sandy peppered hair that fell lazily over his forehead. There was a gash across his cheek that leaked blood but it did little to stain his handsome features. Ingah turned to face her and his brown eyes met hers, her heart beat faster, it always did when they traded gazes.  "What's funny?" She asked again, a slight anger touched her words and she allowed it to fuel her following remarks "We've been caught and tortured and we'll probably be killed by tomorrow and we haven't even succeeded in our mission!"  "That's just the thing Edda." said Ingah. "We are doomed and as we hang here with the certainty of death looming in the horizon I have come to the sudden realization that I am hopelessly in love with you." Edda turned away from him and scrunched her face as she fought away the pain that came with his words. She'd known that she loved him from the time she'd been called into the smallest chamber of the Remu court and introduced to her partner who would partake with her on probably the most dangerous mission ever attempted. The mission had been to  gather information regarding the children of the King of the Binorians. To find out who was most likely to next inherit the Talent that was passed down from generation to generation along the Binorian King's line  The Talent which the Binorians called Jojoh Meena meaning Blessing of Meena was what made the Binorians rulers of the realm, they were impossible to defeat in battle and for the past five hundred years they had never lost a single war in which their King partook in, all because their Kings held a piece of the Gods within them. An advantage that was a sword to the throat of every nation that rivaled the Binorians.  "I love you too Ingah." Edda said, her voice breaking at the last word. Tears flowed down her cheeks regardless of how hard she tried to stop them. Life was unfair, it was unfair that the Gods had picked the Binorians as their vessel of power. It was unfair that the Binorians used their status before the Gods to enslave and pillage all the nations of the realm. It was unfair that for the first time in her life she had found love and was about to lose it.  Just then the cell door to the dungeon flew open and two guards dressed in dark leather emerged into the dungeon cell. They took their places on either side of the cell door and their eyes were fixed steadily in front of them, focusing on nothing yet aware of everything at the same time. A third figure illuminated by the dungeon torches burning steadily along the walls was clothed in purple robes and a crown of gold with a red emerald as its center piece, entered the chamber last.  King Vayin Vigon of Binoria was an aging man who still managed to carry with him the fierce eloquence of a man who was far from over with the fight waged against time. He was tall with hair full of grey that curled and fell over the sides of his face and a grey beard that was neatly trimmed. His skin was pale cream and his long slender fingers were studded with gold rings. He had participated in over fifty nine battles and he had not a single scar to show for it.  "I sense something." Said King Vayin. He walked towards the two prisoners until he was an arm's length away, he tilted his head and observed Ingah then moved his gaze to Edda. She avoided his eyes, she didn't know the full capacities of the Talent the King possessed but she tried to lessen whatever he might be capable of by avoiding eye contact. The king chuckled "Remu girl, avoiding eye contact doesn't make you immune to my abilities." Edda stiffened, wondering if the King could read thoughts, the king continued "I sense something, is it love? Yes it must be love."  Edda turned her eyes to glare at the King, wondering how it is he knew. The king in turn used the opportunity to meet her eyes, "I see fear in you, girl, and love." the King said, "My inquisitors have spent quite some time on you two but none of you have managed to crack, none of you have managed to betray a single piece of information. But two seconds in here and I already know that both of you are in love." the King clapped his hands together and smiled with glee.  "Love is a wonderful thing isn't it? It compels us to seek more than the self! Without it we are no different from savage animals. Yes, without it we are not human." The King turned his gaze to Ingah, the prisoner met the gaze with defiance, he did not shy away from the King, instead he held his head high, as high as the chains and his arms could allow him. In his mind he pictured every single Binorian he has ever killed, ranging from the High Lord of the South Local of Binoria to a common foot soldier he had crossed paths with once. He took pride in this, and a smirk slowly developed on his face.  The King's gleeful smile left his face and a grim somber expression replaced it. "You must be the Black Ghost."  Ingah panicked, his smirk was replaced by a look of terror and he was incapable of arranging his thoughts in order. A slow smile spread across the King's face. "H-h.. How.. How did you know?" Asked Ingah, nobody outside the nation of Remu knew the identity of the Black Ghost. "Well, we deduced that whoever killed the High Lord of the south Local must have been the black ghost." The King said, much to Ingah's dismay. "I also sense that you value yourself a lot and see yourself as a minor deity among your people." The king turned to the guards at the cell door. "Cut off the Black Ghost's cock and stick it down his throat, cut off his head once he bleeds to death and send it to the Remu with his cock still lodged in his throat." the guards nodded and started to make their way towards a panicked Ingah. King Vayin walked away from the cell to the sound of Edda's and Ingah's screams. "Yes, love is a wonderful thing." He said with a gleaming smile. The mods won't allow me to share the purchase link.
