Every now and then you get hold of a good e-book, perhaps a novel you were very fond of in your green years and lost sight of, and you're looking forward to the pleasure of reading it again after all this time.But all of a sudden you get the cold shower: the text is badly flawed. Either due to OCR errors, or to a sloppy proofreading (if any), or to the tons of legal/commercial rubbish many e-book converters feel entitled to add... however like this that venerable piece of your past is nearly unreadable.Deleting the e-book and forgetting it is certainly a solution but hardly the best one. What I opt for is rather:- Load the e-book to a Calibre library- Convert it to .docx- Open the .docx in Atlantis word processor- Correct/remove the offending stuff- Save it as .epub and live happily ever afterMy reason for investing $35 in an Atlantis registration is that making changes with a word processor is way easier, faster, less error-prone and more straightforward than tampering with html, and Atl, beside offering excellent 'find and replace' features, has a very convenient 'save as epub' option with plenty of sub-options about the metadata.Of course that's just my way of doing it, not THE way.
